Nermina Zaimović-Uzunović was born in 1954 in Sarajevo. She finished elementary school and high school in Zenica. In 1977, she graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Sarajevo, Department of Production Engineering. She defended her master's thesis in the field of machine design at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Mostar in 1985. She received her doctorate in 1993 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Sarajevo and earned the title of Doctor of Technical Sciences.

From 1977 to 1978, she was employed at the Ironworks in Zenica, and from 1978 she worked at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica, with a break from 2010-2014, when she was a member of the PD PS (Parliament) of BiH.

She works all the time in the teaching process and was elected to all positions from assistant to full professor in 2004. She taught undergraduate and postgraduate studies at universities in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Mostar, Bihać and Zenica. She was elected to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Sarajevo in 2004. to the title of full professor for the scientific field, Measurement and quality management, where he was from 2004-2016.

She authored and co-authored 19 books and textbooks, mentored dozens of students in the preparation of graduate theses, mentored 28 graduate students for the preparation of master's theses and 3 doctoral students. Dozens of commissions for the defense of works participated in the work. Published more than a hundred works, see link, in the field of metrology, numerical analysis of stresses and strains and applied mechanics.

Performed the duties of head of the department for machines, vice dean for teaching and head of the department for automation and metrology. Created the curriculum for the study of Engineering Product Design-IDP, and started the study of Metrology at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica.

She participated in a series of projects for the needs of the economy and projects of international scientific research cooperation with universities in the USA, Germany and Slovenia. She was the recipient of a one-year scholarship from the US government. She is a member of the scientific and organizational committees of conference committees and a reviewer of a large number of papers and books.

Member of one board of ANUBIH, Council for Science FBIH, and previously she was a member of the management boards of UNZE, Pedagogical Academy in Zenica, FAD Jelah, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, etc.
