ACTIVITY OF THE LABORATORY
The Laboratory for Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics is a laboratory of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica, which operates within the Department of Energy and Process Engineering.
The following activities are carried out within the laboratory:

• education of students and participants of specialist courses and seminars;
• fundamental research in the field of fluid mechanics and hydraulics;
• examination of characteristics of hydraulic components, i
• examination of the rheological characteristics of non-Newtonian fluids.

STAFF
The basic activities of the laboratory are carried out by a team of experts employed at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica and the University of Zenica, and if necessary, experts from other faculties and scientific research institutions from the country and abroad are also engaged.

AVAILABLE EQUIPMENT 

The laboratory has the following equipment:

• pump aggregate for working pressures up to 250 bar - working medium hydraulic oil,
• pump aggregate for working pressures up to 700 bar - working medium hydraulic oil,
• pump aggregate for grease as a working medium,
• digital electronic instrument for measuring fluid temperature,
• rotary viscometer,
• control-regulating components within hydraulic systems,
• portable measuring device for measuring thermo-fluid quantities,
• educational air tunnel,
• laminar flow analysis pool,
• test table for piston pumps,
• test bench for centrifugal pumps,
• series and/or parallel connection of pumps,
• flow visualization pool,
• test bench for process analysis with recycling,
• test device for demonstration of the gas expansion process,
• unit for the analysis of heat transfer processes.
