by | Oct 26, 2023 | Students' stories

Even as a student of the First High School in Zenica, I knew that my professional calling would be in the field of engineering and technical sciences. Considering that I decided to continue my studies in my hometown, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zenica was a choice that forced itself on me, in accordance with the knowledge and opportunities that the faculty provides, and its long-standing tradition in higher education.

The knowledge and work habits that I acquired in high school were of great importance in overcoming the challenges and fulfilling the obligations that the faculty brings with it. During my undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica, I was always looking for additional knowledge, training, extracurricular activities and expressing my creativity.

Already in my first year of study, I join and become a member of the iDEAlab center at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica. A place where students can turn their innovative and creative ideas into action, using CAD technologies, and 3D printing and scanning technologies. It was with the support of the iDEAlab center, and with the knowledge and skills I acquired at the university, together with my colleagues, I organized workshops and projects that aimed to awaken the desire to learn technical sciences, specifically 3D printing and modeling technologies, among high school students, and encourage the idea with participants for the development of entrepreneurship, personal knowledge and training.

As I became more and more interested in CAD technologies, in addition to my regular studies, I further improved myself in that area, and acquired numerous SOLIDWORKS certificates, the most important of which are CSWP - Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional in Mechanical Design, CSWPA-SM - Certified SOLIDWORKS Advanced Professional in Sheet Metal, CSWP-S – Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional in Simulation. Certification in SOLIDWORKS software was enabled and supported by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica, for those students who want to improve their knowledge and skills and validate them in the right way.

In the third year of my undergraduate studies, I received the Charter of the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica for the best achieved success, and in the same year I became an active member of the STEM Academy program in Zenica, as an educator. In my final, fourth year of studies, I had the honor of being a senior judge at the National Robotics Championship held in Zenica, organized by the World Robot Olympiad.

After finishing my four-year undergraduate studies, I continued my education and enrolled in postgraduate, master's studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica, in the department of engineering product design.

I would like to use my story as a motive and incentive for all students and future freshmen, to further improve themselves in addition to their regular studies, and to make the most of all the possibilities and opportunities that our faculty offers.
