Elmin Mecavica – graduate

During my studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zenica, I gained a lot of knowledge in the field of quality management and metal machining, both through courses and through numerous seminars in which I had the opportunity to participate. It was this knowledge that helped me in my career. I graduated from the Department of Management of Production Technologies.
Immediately after finishing my studies, I got a job in the company Metaling doo Jajce, where I am currently working. In the beginning, I was in dimensional control, as an intern, and currently I am the Quality Assurance Manager, where I am in charge of creating attestation and technical documentation after the completion of the project (material attestations, dimensional control, welding control and AKZ control). In addition, I am responsible for the functioning of the workshop, in the form of organization of people, jobs and projects, from the beginning of construction to completion and delivery to the site. I also perform the function of the management representative for Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001), where I take care of the company's compliance with the requirements of these standards.
At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, in addition to professional knowledge, I also acquired skills for searching for solutions to problems. I would say that the faculty taught me to be persistent in looking for solutions, step by step, researching, asking for advice from more experienced, older people and even from colleagues, and that teamwork is important, which greatly helps to reach a concrete solution.
