According to the organizational structure of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica, which has been in operation since 2001, the Department of Industrial Engineering and Production Systems is one of the ten existing departments of the faculty. It has two laboratories in its composition, namely:
- Laboratory for technical diagnostics
- Industrial Engineering Laboratory
The very name of the Department indicates the basic directions of scientific research and professional work in which the teachers and associates of this Department work. Therefore, these are studies in the fields of modern production management (CAPP and CAM and the integration of CAD-CAM functions) and quality management (CAQ), management (TQM), reengineering in business and production systems, studies in the fields of production technologies (CNC technologies), flexible and computer-integrated production systems (CIM), internal transport and logistics, maintenance and technical diagnostics, assembly (CAA), design of production systems and technologies, etc.
