Defense of the thesis of candidate Maid Horić entitled: "DESIGN AND NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF A RECTANGULAR PRESSURE VESSEL"

On May 21, 2026, candidate Maid Horić successfully defended her thesis entitled:

"DESIGN AND NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF A RECTANGULAR PRESSURE VESSEL"

The thesis was defended before a committee consisting of:

• Prof. Dr. Nedeljko Vukojević
• Prof. dr. Fuad Hadžikadunić
• Assoc. Ph.D. Ernad Bešlagić

In his work, the candidate performed the analysis and calculation of a rectangular pressure vessel open at the top, intended for water storage. The paper considered the basic design principles, the distribution of hydrostatic pressure, and the influence of geometry and stiffeners on the behavior of the structure. The calculation was performed using analytical methods, where bending moments were determined at characteristic points on the vessel walls, as well as stresses in the sheet metal and stiffeners. The numerical analysis was performed using the SolidWorks Simulation software package.

With this act, candidate Maid Horić earned the title of Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, with a total of 240 ECTS credit points.
